What kind of projects are we looking for?
Innovative concepts that have market potential for high growth and are likely to be granted strong IP. More specifically we would like to focus on ideas we can develop into physical consumer products.
Can you assist inventors based outside the UK?
We are open to ideas originating from any part of the world.
Would investors based outside the UK be welcome?
Yes. Although non-UK resident investors will not qualify for tax incentives such as EIS, they will be eligible for the same dilution free returns offered by the Ignitor ™ process.
Do you want students and professional based outside the UK to get involved?
At the moment any relevant student or professional based outside the UK should hold back from registering. We are just launching in the UK and therefore fully focused on recruiting ‘local’ students and professionals. This is due to the requirement for team building exercises and some face to face meetings.
Are we an incubator or accelerator?
No. We offer a fully comprehensive and interventionist approach to commercialisation.
Do you compete with VC’s?
Not at all. We look to collaborate with VC’s at every stage of the process - all they way through to exit.
Would the inventor retain ownership of the idea?
VirtuousEye and the other key players in the process become, in essence, business partners to the inventors. Therefore the ownership level of the idea retained by the inventor will be far less than 100%. This is the price of building the team and embarking on the Ignitor™ process. Please bear in mind that although going it alone would ensure the inventor keeps 100% - if unsuccessful this 100% stake may well end up worth nothing.
What happens once I register?
VirtuousEye will endeavour to make contact within a very short period. We will let you know whether we want to take things further and, if so, what is required to become fully involved. This may rapidly progress to a face to face discussion about inclusion in one of our Ignitor™ commercialisation processes.
Does VirtuousEye sign Non-Disclosure Agreements?
We are approached regularly with a great many ideas. If we signed an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) for each one, we would spend too much time handling their administration, leaving us with too little to assist development. However, we do record our face to face meetings and are fully committed to keeping new ideas confidential. Ultimately our goal is to partner with inventors to afford their ideas the maximum possible (IP) Intellectual Property protection.
